Services

  • This initial visit includes:

    • A review of medical history and the reason for referral along with any difficulties or challenges being experienced

    • Assessments of: vital signs, strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, vision, among other physical and cognitive components impacting functional performance

    • An environmental assessment with a focus on safety, accessibility, and fall prevention

    • Establishing treatment goals, plan of care, and frequency of visits

  • Providing client-centered care specific to the needs at hand including:

    • Functional activity analysis and intervention

    • Exercising with resistance bands for arm, leg, and core strength.

    • Exercising with therapy putty for improving hand strength, coordination, and dexterity

    • Balance and stability exercises and activities

    • Medical and adaptive equipment recommendations, ordering, assembly, and training

    • Home assessments for safety and accessibility

    Some examples of performance areas being addressed:

    • Dynamic functional movements

    • Sitting and standing balance

    • Upper body, core, and lower body strength

    • Endurance and activity tolerance

    • Increasing range of motion

    • Neuromuscular re-education

    • Cognition

    • Motor planning and sequencing

    • Relaxation strategies

  • This private pay only service is for “quick-solution” based visits to address very specific or immediate concerns such as:

    • Evaluating the need for Occupational Therapy services

    • Strategies/recommendations for successful “Aging in Place”

    • Preparation prior to surgery or procedure

    • Wellness recommendations

    • Medical equipment recommendations, ordering, assembly, and education on use

    • Caregiver education and training

    • Fall prevention strategies and recommendations

    • Environmental modification recommendations to improve safety and accessibility

    • Strategies to manage challenging behaviors related to dementia

    In Pennsylvania, direct Occupational Therapy to an individual for a specific medical condition requires a referral from a licensed physician, licensed certified registered nurse practitioner, or licensed physician assistant.

    Indirect services such as consultations, caregiver training, and education do not require a referral.
